🎥 OBS Studio

Turn on the WebSocket: scenes, recording, streaming and stream health alerts.

PanelDeck connects to OBS Studio through OBS's own WebSocket: switch scenes, record, stream, save clips and control audio sources from your phone.

1. Turn on the WebSocket in OBS

  1. In OBS: Tools → WebSocket Server Settings → Enable WebSocket server.
  2. Note the port (4455 by default) and the password.

2. Connect PanelDeck

  1. In the program, open Settings → the OBS Studio card and tick Control OBS from the phone (scenes, recording, streaming, audio).
  2. Enter server 127.0.0.1, port 4455 and the OBS password, then click Save. While OBS is closed, the program retries every few seconds.

3. Add the buttons

Select a button and pick a scene, recording, streaming, clip or audio source action from the OBS section of the Ready-made actions list. Recording and streaming timers show right on the button. The ready-made Streamer layout already includes most of these buttons.

Stream health alerts (Beta, Pro)

The phone vibrates and shows a colored strip at the top of the screen on congestion, dropped frames or a falling bitrate. This works while Experimental features (Beta) are on in the program's Settings. To turn it off, untick Vibration alert on the phone for stream problems in the Settings → OBS Studio card.
